Depends on how "dirty" the original ATF is.

Case in point: Acura TL with 65k, 7.5 quart capacity. Quarts put in before ATF flused through cooler return line looked clear: around 19 quarts........

However, in my Minima I just ran 10 through and it was the nice pink-red color and appeared clear. But I had replaced the fluid by a machine at 32k and only had 15k on that fluid......

This is one of the few times when color does mean something.....

I know on the 5th gen, I took my local Nissan specialist 12 quarts for the T Tech machine and he used all of it.

If you are buying Amsoil ATF, get the 10 quart container and a few extra quarts.

Questions:

Have you ever changed the ATF?

What mileage are you at?

Normally, you should be able to "get away" just a case.

I used the 10 quart jug and a few extra quarts of AMSOIL Synthetic ATF. That jug is great for taking old oil to be recycled. I kept it just for that, screw on cap prevents accidental spills. I also replaced Power Steering Fluid with Synthetic ATF Fluid. Sucked old oil out of Power Steering Pump with rubber vacuum bulb, Have done this 4 times. I have now converted engine, automatic transmission and power steering pump to AMSOIL Sunthetics. Engine and tranny are extremely quiet. Power Steering pump was never noisey and is still very quiet. Transmission shifts super smooth and quick! Very pleased!
Be well!!!!
