which springs would you recommend?

Hi

I got a 97 SE 5 - speed and I want to get some lowering springs for my car. The thing is, I want to have it lowered enough to get rid of the gap but still have a ride as close to a stock ride. which springs would you recommend?

thanks

Re: which springs would you recommend?

I think H&R springs are very close to stock.. with about 1.3-1.5 inch drops

You can't have no gap and a stock ride. It's hard enough to get no gap. Springs won't do it, you'd have to get coilovers.

Click. You're welcome.

i like my progress springs with KYB AGX's ride is a bit firmer but not too bouncy and the drop was 1.7" or so...gap is pretty well gone

Cut springs should do the trick. Maxspeeds with like 2 coils cut should get you a 'perfect' drop. Thats what I plan on doing either Maxspeeds or H&Rs.

if you cut coils, your ride will suffer a great deal. if you want lower drop than lowering springs, get coil-overs.

B&G springs give the most drop with a close to stock ride. H&R's are very good as well, you cant go wrong with either brand

You didn't click the thread I supplied above, did you.

Coilovers offer an adjustable drop at the expense of ride quality.

agreed. since i moved to flint i set my agx's on 2 in the front and 3 in the rear and can honestly say its stock. at home in pittsburgh i drove on 3 in the front and 5 in the rear, lil did i realize i was a couple clicks away from a stock ride. also they handle incredible.

what springs is that setting with?
im on agx 3/4 or 3/5 i cant remember..and progress springs, and i feel stockish sorta.
if you want stockish ride and a decent drop- progress springs are good price.
those maxspeeds are pretty cheap priced too looks cool.
but if you want aggressive driving, like with eibachs, dont get these progress.
im a few months into them , and now im getting back a little body roll which i dont like.
