Would there be any gains from making the Y-pipe arms equal length?

It appears on the stock Maxima Ypipe that there was some effort to keep the branches equal length but it may be it was just necessary to shape it that way to accomadate the precats. The first generation stillen pipe used an equal length design, did that show any better gains than the current aftermarket y-pipes? Could en equal length pipe be made that would give better gains?
I was just reading an article on the new Ducati V twin motorcycle that uses a two into one exhaust design. It mentions that on the old bike the pipe off the rear cylinder was a big tangle to keep the lengths the same. But on the new bike the front pipe was a bigger diameter to 'balance it all out and make the same power as the old equal-length system'. Could we see any gains from a y-pipe designed this way?
It is the September issue of Motorcyclist BTW

Actually, the first generation Stillen version was not a great design. Trying to run equal length pipes resulted in a slight kink in the system. The bends were too severe and caused the car to lose some of its "gained" power. I've noticed that on the Budget pipe, however, that they used a smaller pipe in the rear to even things out a bit. That's a good design.

Anything new on the FLP intake? Would you all be able to make it anytime soon?Anachromism as Nightrider said all of the gains you would recieve from equal length pipes would be negligable with all the bends needed for them.

I had the Stillen equal-length Y-pipe and now I've got a WSP non-mandrel Y-pipe. On the dyno, I gained more power at all rpms above 4000 plus the WSP is much quieter (thick gauge metal, lined flex). How's that?

Yeah, I wasn't too busy earlier. I've been really tied up because school is starting soon and I'm starting a new job. I'll be able to make that pipe for you. I can do $60 plus shipping. What color do you want?
