Springs that WILL NOT lower car
Springs that WILL NOT lower car
Hi all... Like all others at the org, I am disgruntled with the handling of my 2k2 SE w/ RSB. Soooo Im looking to get new springs which seems to be the best thing one could do for the weak suspension. So my question is, what springs can i get that will NOT noticeably lower my ride? I am looking at the H&R's but dont know if they will lower the car at all. I am using stock rims and the TERRIBLE re92's. Anyone have any ideas?

H & Rs will lower the car, just like virtually all the springs talked about on the org, some have less drop than others, but you're looking at 1+ inch drop with all of em. There may be some that don't, but if you love that wheel gap, good luck.
How can you possibly like that wheel gap?
Here is the list, although I don't know how accurate it is. From what I have seen, I think you want H&R's.
Inches (front/back)
Eibach 1.3, 1.0 (stiff)
H&R 1.4, 1.3 (near stock)
Progress 1.7, 1.5 (near stock)
Intrax 1.75 all around
Sprint 2.0 all around (stiff)
B&G 1.6, 1.6
Ground Controls adjustable (very stiff)
MaxSpeed 1.7, 1.4 (near stock)

It lowered the car about 1 1/4 inches and the ride suffered minimally.
I live in Colorado and go to work by entering the highway with a looooonnnnggg loop. The car handles great (not super car level) but enough to impress the passengers that join me.
YOU MUST CHANGE THE TIRES! I went with BF Goodrich Comp TWA's all season.
Much nicer than those RE92's
I also took my car in for alignment, tire balancing, rotation, etc... and my 2k2 SE met all factory specs! Very minimal adjustments (I was not charged for any alignment issues).

I just put H&R's on my car the other day and it rides SO much better, now. I can eat Cup-O-soup while I'm taking ramps at 60
AND the car looks great. Find someone with the springs you want and ride in their car; the H&R drop is subtle.....to each his own.
Try before you buy!

Cause I need to get rid of my wheel gap
and I don't want to pay $350 for struts and all that aftermarket stuff as of yet.
ME??? No, I put mine on with Tokico shocks. At first I was thinking that I wanted to save some cash and put them on with the stock shocks, but I have close to 50K on my baby so that would have been a bad idea. How many miles do you have; if it's low, you can use the stock shocks for a while; eventually, there will be adjustable shocks made for the 5th gens. Another option would be to buy shocks and have someone help you with the install instead of paying a shop to do it.

and I have about 27,000miles
yeah but not really that much considering it's a 2000. I want some TEIN suspension from japan, but of course they will never make parts for our maximas

And if you must know, I was asking a legimate question in return while providing him with a list of spring heights.
What useful information did you provide in your post?? NOTHING!!! Who's the postwhore now?
****ing ***got hypocrite.
Re: Re: Re: uuhh??
anyone have the sprint springs...they look to offer the biggest drop, and me being the kind that loves low riders, would prolly want the lowest drop....anyone ever get sprints or heard anything about them?
thanx...

One could also buy the springs and/or struts from the 2k1 model year to firm up the 2k2-2k3. i'm not positive what is different(maybe someone with a 2k2 parts manual could compare the f/r springs and struts with the 2k1 that is posted online here) but believe the front springs and struts(and maybe the rear struts) are 'softer' than the 2k1.
This would keep the car stock 'nissan' and firm up the ride somewhere between the 2k2 and an aftermarket spring and/or strut and keep the ride height and fender gap the same.
Just a thought...

Ok, I've decided against getting any form of suspension enhancement. So thanks for the comment, but I have other plans.
Thanks though,
