Market for 1st Gen Max or Max parts?

Does anyone know if there is a market for 1st gen Maximas out there? I just replaced my '81 5-spd with a '96 SE. Someone was telling me people collect/rebuild those old engines cause they just never die. Mine has 267,000 original miles on it, and it's still going strong. The car needs work on the brakes and front end, which is why I finally replaced it. I just wondered if anyone knows of people or websites that look for cars like this because I'd much rather sell it cheap to a Maxima enthusiast than to donate it for the tax write off.

Thanks.

I have always thought an old max with a turbo z-car engine would be rather cool. There are some other people out there who have mentioned this. I would almost be interested, but I have too many cars already. Are you the only owner of this car, and is it in good shape despite having so many miles (ie rust, etc)?

Parts?!

How's the body and where are you at? My '82 needs some steel if you know what I mean.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I've been out of town. Actually both the body and the interior are in relatively good shape. There's a little bit of rust down around the wheel wells, but it's been treated and patched. The car has always been in my family. My dad bought it new in '81 and gave it to in about '95. The interior was redone probably about 10 years ago, and is still in good shape - no major tears or hideous stains. It runs really well, the only problems (that I know of) are the rear brakes, right front ball joint, and some minor electrical issues (dome light and wiper fluid squirters must have shorts). I'm located in Portland, Oregon.

Thanks for your interest.
