1,100 mile roadtrip

I took a road trip this Tuesday...

LA -> Yosemite via the 395 (I saw an orange 350Z going the other way!)-> Santa Cruz via the 152 -> Pebble Beach -> LA via PCH and 101. No casualties except a rabbit who made could make up its mind a paid the ultimate price on the PCH

I averaged just a hair under 26mpg... I'm happy to say the least. This is with quite a few boosted passing maneuvers and some "race" with a big V8 SUV that thought he was bad **** after 80+... he tried not to let me pass him and tried to pass me afterwards... hehe. I peak out at about 780C on my EGT, so it looks like my A/F is fine with the combo I have listed below:

I'm running a Vortech V2 (still 3.6"), CAI, exhaust, Walbro 255lph (hi-pressure version) without the inline T-REX, 245/40/18.

I just had my ACT installed 5 days before the trip so I broke it in as guess. I still have a little clutch groan but it seems to be going away. I did not need to resurface my flywheel so that may be the source of the noise. The stock clutch had alot of material left but was slipping. The clutch pedal seems to have softened up a bit, which is good. My Wilwood brakes held up well on the mountain curves/downhills, too.

Silly SUV driver man . I have to take a road trip some time in the max, we always end up taking the Tahoe.

I've had a groan especially in reverse and a 4-3 chatter since my 98 SE was brand-new. It's really annoying--never again!! But I'll probably have this car another 2 years. If I keep the same g/f I'll probably drive my 98 another 5-6 years. There is a downside to dating women with somewhat costly tastes, but they're cool too which is the flip side...

Kinda OT but did you go to Yosemite to climb? It's my favorite place on the planet...
