Are clips used in the engine bay re-usable?

Are clips used in the engine bay re-usable?
well, not re-usable...
Basically, my MAFS sensor wiring needs to be replaced...wiring harness
is an all-or-nothing ordeal...I'd rather just fix the two wires that
need fixin'.
SO, what I was hoping to do was "crack" it open, feed new wire into it
and then splice the new wires in, further down the wires (like 6 inches
down).
Any thoughts on this?
