Confused about warranty.

Okay, I have been doing some thinking. I just purchase my 99 SE 5-speed about a month ago. I bought a extended warranty to overlap the factory one. I just hit 48k miles. I was thinking of the chances of the car taking a total spill where I am needing all this warranty work. So, my confusion is: Should I refund the warranty and buy just a aftermarket transmission warranty and invest in a suspension/rims setup? I know it's a chance what ever I do. Most of what I hear about things breaking are things not even covered by most warranties cause they are wear and tear items so let me know what you think.

2 of my ignition coils went out at ~30K... dealer replaced all 6 for me under warranty and told me the bill would have been $900.

The factory warranty on the powertrain is 5 yrs. or 60K, so the aftermarket one is redundant in your case regarding the transmission.

ignition coils

my ignition coils needed to be replaced too. Nissan did it under warranty, but said it was not covered past 3yr/36k. it would have cost me $750. i had 50k miles.

hey..i just noticed your response....i was curious as to how you found out that 2 of your ignition coils had failed....i think the same thing has happened to me....it all started just around 28,500k mileage....did you notice such things as any type of engine noise, did you have delayed or rough start problems, acceleration problems, did you feel or sense a loss of power, etc).....did they do a complete diagnostics.....if so do you remember what that consisted of.....has the problem been solved/fixed......if so how long ago....

Just the other day, I discovered my rad fan fell off the metal motor mount. It looked like it just melted off. The AC fan was also melting off. It's off-axis & vibration like nuts. Anyway, the extended warranty is covering the cost of 2 new motors & 2 new fan blades (& my weak hood struts). It'll save me about Cdn$1,100. I so love that ASP warranty plan!!!

OK... driving home on the freeway one night, cruising at about 70, the car just hesitates for about a 1/2 second and the CEL light came on. I slowed down to 50, downshifted to 4th, and gently gave it more gas. Seemed fine, no noise, no more hesitation, so I just continued my drive home at 70 in 5th. Next morning, CEL is still on, started right up, no hesitation on the way to the dealer. The car seemed to work perfectly fine. Sorry I didn't check the code(s) from the ECU, I left it up to the dealer since it was still under warranty and I had to get to work. 6000 miles later, no apparent problems.
