Are H@R a lot better than eibach

I wanna buy H@R springs for my 97 max b/c i heard they are better for the max. They are about 30-40 dollars more than the eibach pros that i bought. is it worth it to go wioth the H@R's?

where did you hear they are better. but most people get H&R though cuz we are family sedan driver. it depends on what kind of ride you want. eibach is more sporty (e.g good handling, better turn, etc.). h&r has more comfortable ride but still good in handling. do a search and see what people think on their spring.

yea definitely search. there was a post on this a few days ago.

I think basically Eibach are stiffer springs, so probably better handling than H&R but stiffer ride.

i have no complaints about my H&Rs. $30 difference means nothing when you are talking about suspension on your car... with struts you are at $500 anyways. my car handles great, rides great still too. springs are probably the most important comfort factor in your car, might as well make it worth all the effort and $.

Also, i have installed springs on acuras and hondas before and they are a pain in the ***. So i asked a guy how much to do it and they said 120-150, is that a good price, also are max's easier to install than integras,accords, and civics?

I've never done any install on any car but I'm going to do it myself really soon. but since you have so much install experience, you'll have to ask yourself that question. are you willing to spend $150 with a guy (probably never install anything on our car) or just search through the forum (with EVERY information one can possibly find) and do the job yourself with confidence? Do you know many guy got their spring installed by "mechanic" and find out it needs to be redone? e.g. spring installed upside down, strut bearing need to be replaced, bumpstop need to be trim, etc. etc. etc.

I can install spring and struts. As long as you have both springs and struts to install. Its not hard at all. That and a spring compressor... I dont wanna kill myself when the spring pops up.
I have eibach and tokico blues. Stiff but great handling. not very comfortable on the bumpy freeways though.

Is it pretty much the same as installing it on another car?

H&R Spirngs

I just installed my H&R springs and KYB AGX Struts last week. The ride is great...not too rough and not too agressive drop. Lots of people post on how Eibach's seem to sit lower then expected, but say they do handle better, personally H&R's do me just fine..handling is greatly improved.

I got my H&R's through Tirerack.com it was an awesome deal and fast shipping.

$ 205 at Tirerack.com

I just ordered my H&Rs from the Tirerack on Friday for $205 plus $13 for 2 day Fed Ex shipping (why would I pay $12 for UPS to take 5 days to ship? ). It's good to hear you think the ride isn't too rough nor is the drop too aggressive. I'm currently riding on Intrax springs which gave me nearly a 2" drop in the front and 2.25" drop in the back. The look is excellent, but due to my job, I need to take my car on sites that tend to scrap my front lip and SFCs therefore I'm swapping out the springs. The Intrax ride was actually pretty good until you hit a major pothole or something.

What are your gaps like with the H&Rs?

H&R

I probablly couldn't give you a good estimate of the gap. Alot of people have posted with pics so you might want to search for them. I need to get a pic of mine for future refrence. Anyway, I live and go to school in Downtown Atlanta and the drop is just right for conditions excluding the pothole that will eat your car. I love the look expecially when sitting next to a stock maxima...then you really begin to notice. I'd like the front a little lower for the more agressive look, but I'll live with what I have for now.
