Maxima similar to Corolla

Before anyone becomes angry with me for comparing the Maxima to the Corolla, hear me out. If you look at the back trunk section of both cars, they have been parralleled throughout the years. The older Corollas have the similiar back to the 1st and 2nd generation Maximas with the license plate in the middle of the trunk, and lettering on the uppper sides. The next model Corolla is similar to the the trunk section of the 3rd generation Maxima, they both have the model name of the car and some casing or lights around them. and the model Corolla made around 99 I think it was has just the lettering on the back of the trunk much like the 4th generation Maximas. Now I am not saying these cars are similiar in any other ways, maybe its just Maxima envy on Toyotas side.

I agree with you a little bit. I can see what you're saying. I only distinctly remember two gens of Corollas and you're right that they slightly resemble the 3rd and 4th Gen. (the 4th Gen is only similar because of the letterin and lowered license plate position)

If you look at most cars from the same year, there are alot of similarities (sp?) among car makers. Certain things become trendy then everyone starts building their cars like that....

Thats all im saying guys is that its a similarity. Every post I put up, some wise guy has to say something smart and try to be funny. Maybe if think about it for a second, it will make sense, good posts by the way, the first two who responded, alot of good input there.

Yeah camrys are close, but the 97-02's have the plate in the middle of the trunk, unlike the 97-01 or 02 corolla which had the 4th gen maxima lettering, but i know what you sayin man

The 92-96 Camry was a copy of the 89-94 Maxima, which it favors more than the 95-99 Maxima. The 93-98 Corolla is a rip off of the 89-99 Maxima, it looks like a combo of both. It has the curved trunk lik ethe 4th gens, the Corolla sign in the center of the trunk like the 3rd and 4th gen, it has similiar lights to a 3rd gen and rear bumper similiar to both. It is what a 4th gen and 3rd gens child would look like if they could reproduce.

No. The new Corolla is better looking than a 4th or 5th gen Maxima, it'd be hard to dispute that. Both suffer from low rear decks and narrow bodies. The Corolla is modern looking. I don't think I'd want it though because it's just too conservative, even in S format. Very roomy in the back though, I recently rode in one. As far as Toyota envying Nissan, I just don't see that at all. Toyota is a monster.

Oh man, i'm getting nostalgic.. I remember when the 4th gens first cam out.. I was 17, and the tail wasn't too atrracitve at first, but I love it now.
