2K2 HIDs for sale(chameleonjspec related)

Apparently, he didn't get enough bites, so now he's in the FS forum selling 2K2 Headlamps with or withOUT burners/bulbs:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=145957

Hey guys, my friend works at a local nissan dealer they are overstock with 2002 headlamps and he can give a pretty good deal on them, just wanted to know how many people are interested getting some? He can get with HID kit or without, let me know guys..

we can get them cheap but they are not in nissan packaging.

Hmmmmmmmn.....Sound fishy?

actually, you can just order the 2K2 headlight housing without any of the HID bulbs and ballasts...i almost did..but they'll still cost about $500 for both housings..

I'm 99% sure you can NOT order just the housing. Unless, something has changed in the Nissan parts book recently.

I'll give DaveB a call tomorrow to confirm.

BTW....floridabornmax

Anyone that buys these will be hunted down on this board at EVERY occasion and taunted like the POS they are for supporting AHOLES like this that rip off other 2K2 owners.

You can count on that as my new mission.

Your RIGHT!

The housings can be purchased withOUT the bulbs/ballasts now for around $425 according to DaveB.

Sorry for the confusion, now back to the "witch hunt"!

So if you got the housings without the ballasts and what not, how would you set them up for regular bulbs? I'd certainly go that route myself as I hate the HID price and look, but the housings style is noooice.

Hopefully, your NOT considering buying them from chamelieon.

The halogen bulbs would NOT work too well in the HID slot, since the HID used a SHIELDED bulb(D2R). The non-shielded halogen would daze/glare oncoming traffic.

I was just thinking about it. 900 or 425.... The price is right from Dave B, but if there was no way to make it work well, no sense in doing it. Although...... blinding oncoming traffic with jacked up lights would be kind of sweet

I didn't say it wouldn't work for sure. You could try and paint on some shields where the D2R burners have them.

I'm betting you could make it work by practicing on a few sets of cheap bulbs. It all depends on how much lighting you need. Apparently, a lot of RICE around where I live get away with near darkness, since they run some cheap SUPER blue halogen bulbs that don't put out as much light as my fog lamps.

I never said I was going to do anything. What is the cheapest I can get the complete standard 2k2 headlights for? Around $850 correct?

It would be cool to make it work, just for fun, but blowing 400+ bucks for little use would be no good. Other than the bulbs not shining correctly, will everything else work alright? I just bought some Silverstars that I haven't put in yet, they seem to be pretty sweet for a non hid bulb.

Yes, but it will REQUIRE some electrical know-how. You need to splice the turn signals, power the low and high(9005) bulb, and ground them.

It's NOT simply PLUG-N-PLAY, but it's NOT difficult either. If you need help, I'd be glad to try and draw you a diagram for the wires. Or better yet, check out Dixits' website(BigDogJonx) to see some of what's involved, since his setup would be VERY similar to what you'd need to do.

A while back, I had gotten a price from a Nissan dealership for just the housings. And I was going to buy Philips ballasts and capsules from autolamps-online since Philips makes the best units. Ikochah or whatever the name of the company that makes Nissan's units makes just about everything else too. But Germans make the best lighting equipment. which is no surprise since, I believe, they invented the art of glass blowing.
