Brake Pad Installation

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to install brake pads on a 2k1 Max. My pads are coming up on replacement.

Any recommendations on brake pads from PepBoys/AutoZone etc.?

I assume it is pretty simple to swap out pads. Is it necessary to remove the caliper and push back the caliper piston with a c-clamp?
Any help is much appreciated.

as far as a brand from an autoparts store, i would recommend bendix import quiet pads from advance auto part number mkd430IQ or performance friction pads from autozone. not sure what their part number is. both are a good upgrade from the stock pads without being rough on rotors.

Hey KeVinMaxFan, remember it is not just a matter of changing the pads, you have to clean-lubricate the caliper and the rails where the pads slide, for the piston it's only the front one that you will have to push with a c-clamp, for the one in the back you need to screw in the piston but clock wise, that is the only way the rear piston will go in. It's important that you verify the piston seal
just to be shure it is not damadge.

Good luck

Hey sorry for the confusion, if you have an auto then put it on park, but dont crank the e-brake if you are doin a brake job, with the e-brake on you wont be able to remove the rear pads from the caliper assembly thus from the rotor, so the answer is no e-brakes on when changing rear brake pads.

Cheers
