Still can't change my parking lights
Still can't change my parking lights
I need help changing them. The stock parking lights looks so crapy. I try unscrewing that one screw that holds it but I can not get the whole light out. I do not want to force it because I'm affraid I wll break something. The headlights are easy to remove but the parking lights (the one next to the headlight) is really complicated. Can someone help me out Thanks
Besides that screw on top >>
Is the a ball and socket joint at the bottom. Take a flat head screw driver, wrap it with a thin piece of cloth and use that to pry the ball (connected to the back to the lamp) out of the socket (a plastic cup pressed into the metal bracket in the fender/radiator mount).

If you sneak your hand down in the corner you can get the socket out without removing the assembly from the car. It's not that hard to do. Sometimes it takes a bit of playing around to get the socket to lock back in, but it's definately doable and much easier then taking the assembly off the car.
Give it a shot!

Definatly spray WD 40 or something on the ball joint. It took so much force to get mine off I thought I was going to break something for sure. Once you take it off once it goes on and off a lot easier. One of the writeups on this might have a good pic of where the ball joint is so you know where to spray.

The socket twists out from the bottom. Lefty losey, righty tighty! If you can just feel for the tabs on the socket, push in the right direction and the socket will turn about 1/8 of a turn and come right off. Then just pull it up and out with the wires. Getting it aligned and back in is indeed tricky. Take your time, it's all done by feel because you really can't see a thing under there.
