confused about tires, need a decision

ok so i got my 16' 5 spoke alloys and now I'm deciding which tire size to get, ive searched and I think i've narrowed it down to 225/50/16 or 225/55/16.... which would be better?? i still dont even really understand the difference.... i have 205/65/15s on right now... also is there anything else i need to know regarding the rims... thanks for the help

the 225/55 will be slightly taller and fill up the wheel well better.
the 225/50 is slightly shorter giving you a lower profile. if you are planning on lowering the car i would go with the 225/50 since you will be reducing the wheel gap. if you do not intend on lower i would consider the 225/55 since it will fill the gap a little better, and the 50 will leave an even more noticable gap.

I have Eibach springs (~1.5" drop) and just changed from 225/50-16 to 225/55-16. There was just a little too much gap with the 50's; the 55's look great!
