K&N vs. Frankencar and others - - Advice?

K&N vs. Frankencar and others - - Advice?
The K&N site says that by adding just their cone there is 5HP and 5 TQ increase at the wheels. Are they louder than stock?
How much better is a Frankencar or other brand? Any suggestions?
