Installing CAI (in stages)- Need help, opinions, please!

I have a guy willing to sell me the pipes to a PR CAI for a 4th Gen max for dirt cheap. I have a filter to fit. He is going to be reusing the the flange that bolts to the MAF (MAF adapter) and the short pieces of rubber hose to attach the components together.

So if I have the piping that comes w/ the CAI kit and a cone, what else will I need to complete the installation?

Also, money is tight, so I may use the upper pipe only at first with the BrianV MAF adapter mod straight into the cone. Can I do this? Mechanically speaking, am I forgetting something here?

While money is tight, I want to use this setup, but next month add the necessary parts to convert to a true CAI...

I have 2 other questions:
1, would I be better off just LEAVING it as a hybrid?
2, as a hybrid, will this effectively be the equivalent of a frankencar or fastlane intake?

I'm using the PR CAI midpipe and K&N filter at the moment, and I've used it since I bought it because I never got around to drilling the hole in the car. No complaints at all. If it'll save you afew bucks, and save you from drilling a hole in your car, I'd say just keep the hybrid. Most people say it's better to keep the piping to a minimum due to the restrictions.

How do you have the K&N mounted to the MAF?

On a side note, does anyone else think that Konig Tantrums look a lot like Moteigi Racing MR7s?

Side Question:

What size/brand filter comes on the PRCAI? How large of a filter could be used with it?
