Y pipe question

Y pipe question

I was just wondering iam looking to buy a y pipe for my 99 Max SE 5 speed after doing some reseach i found that in 99 the California emissions Max's had a differant set up than the rest.Is this true? and if so how can i tell if mine is the cali version since i don't want to buy the wrong pipe.thanx

Open you hood. Look on the bottom of the hood (now over your head) there is a white peice of paper there. If it talks about Federal emmisions thats what you have. If it is about cali thats what you got.

You can also check how many plugs there are hanging right after the radiator on the front valve cover. If you've only got 2 plugs there, you have Federal Emissions. If you have 4 plugs there, you have california Emissions.

Thanx for the info i checked the label under the hood and it does mention Cali quite a bit so thats what it is.But it's strange since i live in NY.are they slower than the fedaral ones?

Damm that sucks but it's probaly not slower by that much.
