Should I use 110 octane fuel?

At my local drag strip you can get 110 octane race fuel.. Would this benefit my car in any way, or do you think it may actually hurt the performance. I just have simple bolt on mods

It will hurt performance and can possibly burn out O2 Sensors or your Cat.

High ocatane gas is used for very high compression cars running lots of power. Maximas are better off using octane in the 90s.

There's no point unless you are running high boost. You don't need anything higher than 91-93. The higher the octane, the higher the rate of combustion..... higher octane prevents knocking in high compression engines.

Actually, the higher the octane rating, the LOWER the rate of combustion.

I thought high octane gas cleaned out your fuel system?

you can't use it

110 octane is leaded. Your car runs on un-leaded, it will clog and possibly seize your engine.

If it is leaded it won't seize your engine but it will destroy your cats....

Yeah lead acutally helps with the friction b/t the piston and cylinder wall, it was good until they found out it was bad for the ozone

Nope. The higher the compression or the more ignition advance, the more you need a slower burning fuel to prevent pre-detonation. But if 91 octane solves your pre-detonation problems, increasing octane has absolutely no additional benefits.

It's like running shoes. If you wear a size 10 but buy size 8, your performance suffers. You put on 10's and you can run great, but wearing 12's doesn't make you faster.

I stand corrected... But I have the concept straight, right? I'd like to know if I don't know what I'm talking about

higher ocatne= better for engine

110 octane is alot better for ur engine, ie u will get more power. especially if u have a super on there. 91 is like water compared to 110. but i dont recommend 110 for daily driving, its way too expensive

Ethyl Alcohol!!!!

Yup, use the good stuff BP/Amoco is using in their super expensive gas.

Buy Ethyl Alcohol and pour it down...that should give you the cheapest solution of making 150+ AKI.

It will be bad for engine if you run regular at this ridiculous level, but when used with caution, it can achieve supermotor effort (like beating Cobras).

Luck.

Ammoco gas

Exxon gas

We dynoed bikes that used both gases exclusively. Exxon make more HP, burns better.

$3.99x18=$71.82 (I think I feel it)...

or $12.99 fuel filter + $3.99 throttle plate cleaner = restored POWER!

enjoy the ride.
