Stupid Bumper Lights question

I know i'm going to get flamed by eight million people for this, but isearched throught the threads for an answer and (As usual) searching didn't work.

I bought the custommaxima diamond cut clear lights, and i followed the directions given here and at maximadriver.com. I didn't secure the lights to the bumper. They are just put in to the original white circle bracket that the OEM lights were attached to. They seem pretty secure, but i don't want to take the chance of them falling out at 100 mph. I tried to get behind the fender to tighten it from behind, but my hand barely fit there, and there was no way i was going to be able to get a socket wrench in there too. What am i doing wrong?

Man don't do it, I have seen people get their cars keyed for securing those things. Thiefs couldnt take off the dc and keyed the cars.

Back to the original post, even though they appear secure to you, at high speeds they fall out and can cause some serious damage. As for not being able to get under the bumper, I believe Maximadriver.com says you have to remove a couple of screws from the fender of the car, THEN try to secure the lenses.

Holy crap man, I'm sorry about your accident. Unbelievable how many morons there truly are on the roads.

If you don't want to secure it with a screw, then just put an electric tape aroung the little plastic thing that goes inside (the part which is closer to the wheel). That should more or less secure it. That's what I did until I got them stolen and now they're secured with a big-a$$ screw. As for thieves keying the car F@CK them, ther're not getting my $hit. I live in brooklyn and thieves are a problem.

well when you're driving a 100+ mph (i don't kno why the heck u'd do that) no way can it "pop-out". Basic physics principles! you go forward, ure bumpers get pushed back by force.... unless you slam ure brakes

Basic physics also denots that bumps will be felt much more at higher speeds and that one nice pothole could knock it out of place, and two nice potholes could knock it off all together. As for driving 100MPH everyone does it and thats why i do it too.

whoa two potholes at 100+ will do a lot more than knock out your lens. maybe your teeth too

100 mph was an example..... i meant 125 anyway, i'll try the wood screw idea, it's just that it's a royal ***** and a half to get under there.

And as far as maximadriver's instuctions go, i tried the whole washer idea, but the little screw/**** thing won't screw back in with the washer in place. screw it.
