will summer tires make a difference in cold weather?
is the rubber compound not compatible with cooler temps? i'm looking for a good set of replacement tires on my 15" rims. so far i have the bridgestone RE950s and dunlop sport A2s in mind for high performance all season. i also have the new yokohama ES model and sumitomo HTR200 for high performance (summer) compound. those tires seem to be a good value price for high performance tires. anybody have opinions? i'm not really gonna need anything better than the dunlops right? especially since it freezes where i live.

"Z" rated tires definately don't do well in cold temps. You can actually feel them lose traction on cold mornings. Forget it if it snows, just stay home.
I have the A2's mounted on my factory 16" 5 spokes. Love them! They ride beautiful, handle great and are very quiet. They have great traction in wet weather.
