Darn Bose Cd/Radio
Darn Bose Cd/Radio
I have a third generation Maxima with the bose cd/radio, and for the last few months the radio would sometimes work fine, and other times it would not turn on at all! About 3 weeks ago it wouldnt turn on again and hasn't come back since. I called my darn Nissan dealer, and after almost 1 1/2 hours of phone tag between departments, they finally told me what to do. They said I could bring the car in, they would take the raido out, then send it to bose. It would cost $83 for the "hour of service" to remove and send the radio, at least $175 for the bose flat rate repair, then another $83 for the dealer to put it back in! In addition, it would take 4-6 weeks!! I'm sure somone out there has had the same problem, so what did you do to fix it? Is this problem somthing I can fix? Another Nissan dealer told me after taking the radio out and checking the wires a month ago that it was probibly a power issue inside the radio head. What should I do?
Thanks,
Jeff
Thanks,

also....
if you dont know what the problem is, all you guys who changed this bose system for an aftermarket head and speakers, what kind did you get and how much? Did it sound as good as the bose? Almost everyone I talked to said that the bose is the best I'm going to get in the car, and I dont have a whole lot of cash right now. I miss my cd player! Thanks
