Not as impressive as 13 flats and 14 flats but i backed up my 15 flat 3000 miles away

on one of my last runs in atlanta i clipped a 15 flat. here are the stats:

r/t .627
60' 2.358
1/8 9.737
mph 74.13
1/4 15.035
mph 91.46
that was in may

i recently shipped my car to hawaii and ran this sat. nite

r/t .520
60' 2.326
1/8 9.705
mph 73.90
1/4 15.045
mph 90.61

i cant believe i ripped that light. tire pressure on my 18s was at 19lbs. nothing stripped. i really hooked up out the box. i seem to consistently running 15.1s and 15.0s so i think thats all i can squeeze out of my car as is. weather really doesnt change in HI so ill look to improve other ways.

That's pretty good. I think if you ran with your stock wheels, you could get into the 14s.

so i take it stock wheels are good for 1/4 times? ANd then you can put racing slicks on them right?

Sometimes they are lighter. Also, less rotational mass.

Do a little more on the 60' and you are in the 14's.

Carl,

When you break into 14s while running 18s that will be quite impressive. Imagine if you put on the stockers. Are there many Maximas there?

.... dont worry Carl. When we go to the track i wont let you down. I am hoping for the 14's so we will see. i wont be getting there Jaimes way. I raced baggs and his new VI. I beat him all three times. The lower gears say around 50 mph, he gets a good jump on the beginning but by the end of third i have already passed him. all three times i pulled about 1 1/2 to 2 cars on him. I am not saying his car is slow at all... it is a big improvement. i wanted to race Fred but he had to leave. I think i might be able to beat Fred. Judging how he did against Bags and how i did against Bags. It will definately be a good race.

I think it's entirely possible for you to get your 60 foot times down in the mid 2.2's.

That would break you into the 14s easy...

Hell, I can cut a 2.27 60 foot with my Auto.

okay question

what in the hell do i do to get better 60' times? i keep the 18s on there cause its a lot easier to apply more throttle of the line. when i had the 15s it was to much wheel spin. even when i lay into the gas easy at first and then floor it, they break loose.

also i shift really hard and the 15s spin like crazy after i shift.

is there a trick to getting lower 60' ? my reaction times are always around .6 or on good day .5 my 60' have never been better than 2.34 2.35

slicks? 16s? massive burnout on the 15s?

i never do a burnout btw.

Nismo2020, is your car an auto or 5spd?

Harder launches. The hard part is the traction. Tires will have a huge effect on this. Your 18's are harder to get rolling off the line, but give you better top end. Personally, I say go down to a 16 or 17 with sticky tires. Your car has plenty of muscle to get 14's right now. You have to practice launching harder on slightly smaller and stickier tires. No burnouts on radials. You know that already though. Remember, the R/T is only good when head to head. You have always cut good lights, just focus on getting some stickier tires so you can launch harder. All the guys that are deep in the 14's N/A are using slicks.
