huge diff from stock performance?

 

He wont know for at least a couple weeks till he lets them break in, do what I did and brake from 100+mph down to 30 on new rotors and toast then on the spot.

The passenger side rotor was rubbing the inside of the caliper so you can see the ring it has (after the manual conversion).

uufff..... Wish I had the bling bling.

But until someone does a pre/post test I just cant justify that it will stop me that much quicker/safer.

But I must say....looks very sharp under those Volks.

I wonder if they make any RICE drum brake covers that might cover that up for ya.

That's sweet Kev...I talked to Brian about those..I wish I had the cash to pick them up. How's the braking balance? Is it okay, or a little off? Man, I'm envious.

 

What you got up your sleeve? 300Z front calipers for the Maxima rear?

BTW, how is the pedal feel compared to the 300Z? I thought you lost some travel and gained some "mushy" feel, but are the Brembos any better?

I'm not wealthy, don't get the wrong idea.


From what I'm able to do so far, the brakes are MUCH better than the 300ZX calipers (they better be). The pads bite the rotors REALLY well.


We'll see if it works or not. Too bad I don't have the parts to compare and stuff.

Surprisingly, the pedal travel didn't get any worse. Since the brakes bite much better, you don't have to step on it too hard to slow you down. There's about 1-1.5" of pedal travel, but once you get there, you'll feel the difference (vs. 300ZX TT).

 

very nice kev.... those really make your rims look better.. now you can pin yourself to either part of your car with either pedal

 

 

Reading you reply, it seem that the set-up is great thus no need for rear brake substitution, or maybe you'r cooking something... you are one man of a kind, you have the passion and guts to bring things to the next level and make it happend, you have all my respect and thank you for taking the time to answer each and all posts, it is really appreciate.
