Wheel Question: Are you guys with 20's and 21's putting those wheels on for show or..

to be part of a crowd?

It seems that new trend is to put dubs on every and anything. To each is own but I don't think they look good on Maxima's (which is my opinion). Why 20's and 21's instead of 18' or 19's?

Give it very little time. Matter of fact, keep checking eBay (RiceMotors.com).

I don't think anybody's willingly gonna step into the bear trap here, unless it's someone who invites flame-age more than polyester...

I predict the most popular answer presented on the .org to this question would be:

"Man, my car is UNIQUE! Ain't NOBODY car look like mine now, all cuz my wheels is one inch bigger than that other guys!"

I predict the same people on the street when they're kickin it with their boys/rollin through the populated streets show different reasons that are closer to the "Let's put dubs on whatever we got" ideal, with a mishmesh of "e'hbody muss think I'm tha thuggstah'u tha week!"

That's just a prediction of the majority of said answers. The reasons people give here probably aren't very genuine, whether the people that gave them realize it or not. I really don't care why....people got their reasons, and who's to say one's better than the other? I just think it's amusing, especially the 21s on the 4th gen....not only do you get all the negative qualities about huge wheels on your average sedan, but in my eyes it just looked *horrible*....not only cause I'm anti-bling, but because I think it had twice the ground clearance of my stock 4x4ish 4th gen

I think what your saying is true but I want to honestly know if its for show. I know a couple people on the org has done it for show purposes because the car itself looked good.

Yea, I suppose so, though I'd even think show guys would draw the line at being slammed on 19s or something (on a 4th gen at least). Because those 21s looked tucked bad as is and that thing was high off the ground, which isn't exactly a show look.

For the record, I think dubs and bigger are, as I would say, flossy on the right kind of rides, so I'm not 100% anti big wheels. Though I'd probably never go that route myself.

imho 18" is the sweet spot, good performance very very cheap nowadays. There really isn't much need for 17" anymore, as you no longer have to turn to Kumho if you want a good 18" tire. Name brand doesn't break the bank like it did 2 years ago.

19" is probably not necessary on the maxima. FWD and all there is only so much that can be done with the rubber. 20" and above the answer is obvious.

Dude, I was down in Miami last October and I saw the ugliest thing I ever saw in my life and I couldn't understand it. A forest green 76 Chevelle with gold Dayton's and they were 20's. I looked at my lady and said, "What the hell is going on here?" Mind you she's from Cali and she turns to me and says, "That car is nice."

I know one thing, that style is crack whack!

flame on or whatever but i would juist like to ask why is everyone acting ignorant when talking about large rims. 20's might not be your slice of cake, and for someone else, it might be the perfect touch, but there is no reason why we need to talk like idiots "ridin' wif my gun-thuggin' 20's blingin' ****, wizee azz blah blah blah" No need turn rap songs "bling bling" into our everyday conversations. I bet, some white kid from beverly hills, gets 20's on his maxima and doesn't say "so i can roll with my homies and thug it" Why do we always associate rap songs iwth big rims... come on, there ARE other reaons...

btw- i have stock rims!

Come on man! Noone hear is talking about rap songs and it's correlation to driving on dubs. But since you brought it up, most times people copy what they see. Hell, 20's look good on the right truck and I think a lot of people agree with that but you have people out there that are corny and just do things because someone else did it. I live a ghetto of Boston right now and I see all the recreation of the rap videos and how people try to show they have a lot of money because they have big chrome rims on their Hugo or Hyundia. Living in a dirt *** house doesn't matter to them though.

I don't think the guys are being ignorant but just having some fun. Why do you take offense to people buggin out?

i love my maxima, and it is somewhat sporty, but its a luxury style car. its not a sports car in the least. 20's arent my style, but it makes as much sense to some as putting a supercharger on a 4 door frontwheel drive car. i mean some people might think stock wheel covers arent cool either

You think I like my stock hubcaps??? I don't think they're ugly but my deal now is that I like the condo I'm buying therefore my wheels can wait. Plus, I damn sure don't wish my hubcaps were 20's.

exatly, sounds like my old neighborhood...as long as you can have something to show for in public(ie-expensive rims, car, etc.), nothing else matters, talk about priorities huh!?

I have hubless stock rims..polished them out so they're a nice shiny black...well, they were until i went deep down into mexico and they got all dirty

I've noticed people with 20+" rims that i see on the street usually don't have .org stickers, or red/white tails so i don't think they've heard of us here.

Anyway, does anyone know of any good Nissan/Infiniti 5 spoke 17" wheels? I wish they made the SE-R specV rims in 5x114.3(4.5)

I am just not sure why you started this thread? Its like specifically aimed at flaming people or people getting flamed...people have many times gone through the 20's...21's on a max etc and the people who do it will say they simply like it....I mean asking why people do something to their car is like asking why people go to work...I dunno like you said to easch his own I guess

No matter what type of intake anyone on the org has, it doesn't show unless someone pops the hood anyway. I'm stickly talking about wheels in this thread.
