brembo bracket failure. watch out.
%@#^%#@ as if life cant get worse,
today with my SC back in my possession. i proceed to reinstall that along with my new brembo big brake kit.
well. problems always seem to happen when you least expect it. Murphy always has to pay a freakin visit.
the SC bracket after it was installed, the belt was freakin hitting the center bolt when the belt was under tension, so what to do? but to freakin dremel the damn bracket. all the bolts were in, and hoses were connected ( including the freakin hard to get alternator bolt, and the allen-headed bolt under neath the car, so it was not feesible to take off the blower from the car. so i used a snake dremel attachment and grinded off about 3mm from the bracket so that the belts would clear.. (which is why i think i ripped the belt in the first place cuz the belt was hitting the stupid bracket)
ok. well after that was fixed, we proceeded to put on the brembos. on the right side, the floating hat bracket's holes, which were to receive the stock 19mm head/12mm thread bolt, were incorrectly tapped or was defective. after test fitting BOLT bolts in the bracket prior to install and hand threading them into place, i tried to torque the bolts , as the instructions stated, to factory spec of 52->73 ft/lbs. well. no go. one of the bolts spun and spun after force greater than hand tightening... this didnt happen to the driver side btw.. so this is leading me to suspect that this passenger side bracket was defective in the first place. dammit. im trying to contact brembo to see if i can get a passenger side bracket underwarranty, since this kit was brand new out of the box install.
damn dude. you get so far. spend so much $$, and this freakin happens to you all the time, someone is tryin to tell me to get rid of my gohan... #%#!@%

so that food money went to my bracket
when you gonna come to the west coast matt.. you know. be with the rest of the cool maxima gang.
you know, brembos would look realy nice on your gold rims..

Re: brembo bracket failure. watch out.
can you explain why are you putting 1K down and getting a brembo kit for the maxima at the same time? hehe, I thought you were going to move onto better things, like m3, hehe, but the 350 should be nice, turbocharge/supercharge the sucker, put the brembo kit in that and put some better suspension there for crying out loud and then you'll have yourself a nice track car
hehe

I cant believe fcking Brembo made you purchase another bracket!then you put cash down on a brand new vehicle that Nissan did not order and they cash your check to go with it. Boy your a nicer person then I am bcuz someone would be soaking up the back blast from the Brembos at Nissan. Hope all goes well for you.
Instead of forking out $120 for another one, why didn't you simply re-tap it to use a larger bolt?
Not that someone shouldn't be fixing it at their cost, but when life sh!tz on you, don't throw money at it- fix it the Redneck way!

uhhh...so you're not getting a Z, right?
i went to 3 nissan dealerships and all of them told me the same thing, all 2003 Z's have been sold out, but i dont like believing these people because they are pretty much retarded.
next question, did you go to the dealership and stick your foor up the managers a$$? go there and cause a scene in front of would-be buyers, that should be fun, and then get your money back.

Hey dude, the Z thing sucks man. SUE!!! Or get them to give you the car at dealer cost for all your troubles and their incompetence, that is unless they want to be sued for a fraudulent claim or something like that. Tell them you talked with your lawyer and have kept close contact with all these agencies and beureaus that deal with these sort of screw ups.
So... i take it you're gonna hook up the org with Gohan brand brake kits?
