Just took a lil trip on the hwy and....

stomped on the automagic, which downshifted to 1st or 2nd (not quite sure) and I just scraped redline! Is this normal for us automatics, or just a freak combo of the intake and nice cool nighttime air?

If you were on the highway, I would think you downshifted to 2nd. Unless you were going REALLY slow....

well it isn't a real hwy. It has a 80km/h limit (about a 48mph), but is still called a hwy It also has traffic lights, and I started from a red light, so that's y I put in the possibility of first gear
