Just Wondering- Could you fit an 02 engine in a RWD old Max?

Anyone know if it could be done? With a standard of course.

I highly doubt it, unless you have alot of money at your disposal. You can do most anything with an endless amount of money. Certain parts may be interchangable.

It can be done but you must have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Is is it pocket friendly and worth the spending? No

But you can do it if you got the pockets to make it happen

yes, of course it can be done. If you are interested in engine swaps, start looking around on the Z-car forums. The 1st gen Maxima engine by is basically like a 280ZX. But even a slightly more narrow engine bay of the 240Z-280Z can hold a VG30DETT engine. So the 3.5L V6 would fit in there too.

You'll just have to make your own engine and transmission mounts. Then you'll need the driveline shortened, and modified to accept the tail end of the transmission. You'll have to find a RWD manual transmisison to go on there. Maybe a 2002+ truck tranny?

Then hook up all your fuel injection wiring to the custom guauges you put in the dash and you're done! (thats the hardes part)
