White gauge faces off EBay

Ok,

So I ordered them (white gauge faces w/indiglow lighting) off eBay, yea, yea I know you get what you pay for, but I got them from "procarparts" well let me tell you they are not worth the shipping cost!! I'm not stupid, I'm Air Force and Navy electronics trained, have worked for Lockheed Martin (Aircraft wirewrap, crimp and solder certified) and Own my own computer repair company so I have allot of training in electronics and wiring, I am trusted to inspect wiring in missiles! so I can wire just about anything...well on to my point.

I called customer no service and got told just use double sided tape(not included)to put the gauge face on top of the old one, well that won't work because the screws holding on the original face make high spots on the new face that the gauge needle hangs on, so I asked them if I could punch holes in the new face and screw them down, I was told I couldn't do that. Well for what I paid for them I took the chance, it didn't look to me like it would damage anything...(no circuitry where I wanted to punch)..and it didn't!!! So hurrah I got them installed.(the needles still hang because of the crappy job of manufacture, they are supposed to just go on over the old gauges and indicator needles, without the need to remove the gauge needles) They are white (like and SE) and they do look WAY cool at night all lit up. Point of the story DO NOT buy from procarparts on ebay. Shipping took almost 2 weeks (they lied about when they went out, this was confirmed by UPS) they don't know what the heck they are selling, and can't help you if they wanted too......which I'm not sure that they even want to help!! anyway, I'd love to see a FAQ on gauge cluster removal on 4th Gens, I'll write it, if it will be posted on the site, before I attempted to remove mine I looked all over the net for one, and could not find one. I'm going to have to remove it again to fix the needle hanging problem and can take some pics with the digital cam if anyone is interested.....let me know and I'll do it

i have the same ones, from the same person.. all you do is take the screws out and throw them away... use some super glue on the corners of the new guages and hold each corner down while you wait for the glue to dry.... then once there in place the black frame should hold them in place along with the glue... there are good directions on the maxima driver how2 site...

I got the same ones installed a couple of days ago and I put double-sided tape behind the new gauges, but the needles still jump at some points.

So all I have to do is remove the screws and maybe put some superglue around the edges and I'm set???

Wow!! Sorry to hear your problems. I bought numerous items from ProCarparts, including diamond cut clears and superwhite indiglos. I never had a problem with them. In fact, they even sent me a coupon worth 15% off any purchase a couple of months ago.

Were these the gauges that glow white, if so i would like to see some pics. I think those are by far the best gauges to get.

Thats what they say to do, as far as that goes, I used a punch and made holes and put the screws back! Just remember if you use super glue, you will never put it back to stock! I'm going to take mine apart again the weekend and fix the needle hanging, it's coming from the back of the has a little hump that has to ride over the face, mine is hanging there. Maybe Procarparts changed vendors!! it happens!

Thats what i did... cus what is happening right now is your guages are lifting in the center and not alowing the needle to move freely... just take out the screws and use glue only on the clear corners of the guauges... Then once the black besel (what ever you call it) is over the guages and cliped in then it will hold them in place and you really dont need to work about the glue...

I've emailed Kenny from Initial K Concepts about his reverse indiglo Halo gauges that he sells for other cars. I had a set on an old 1st gen Probe I had before my Maxima. The gauges looked very good, even had holes for the screws to go through so that meant no glue. I'm going to see if he makes/can make the gauges for Maximas and I'll let everyone know if they're available.

Here's some of the other sales he has for other gauges...
Halo Gauges, Initial K Concepts...eBay

Let me know what y'all think...the gauges looked awesome in person...and the install was very easy with instructions.

I really don't want to glue if I don't have to...Can I just take out the screws and will that work?

i tried to do that but its kinda hard to hold them in place and alow the black bessel to clip with out them moving around.... but if you can get the bessel to clip with the gauges in the right place then thats great... you should be able to get it done with out the glue.. good luck let me know how it goes....

Aight, I see what you're saying now about the glue. So all you did was take out the screws and it stopped the needles from sticking or slowing down at anywhere at all?
