I wonder what the percentage is of 2k2 Owners having MAF Failure

i was browsing vwvortex.. and i was amazed at the amount of VW owners with MAF Failure.. 32% for 2000 cars @ 218 affected 11% for 2001 car with @ 81 affected and 10% for 1999.5 car @ 71 affected and this is just people on the web board.. damn

I wonder what it is for the 2002 and 2003 Maxima's being that it seems to happen more than frequent around here..

Nah, those numbers are kinda hokey. That quest. is like yelling fire in a crowded theatre. You don't need to graduate from law school to know that's plain wrong.

You can't really believe what you see on web boards. The Accord V6 guys are having a 30% tranny failure rate from the poll over there. But the real failure rate is confirmed to only be 1.6% by Honda Corporate.

Just goes to show that people on web boards drive and push their cars a lot harder than ordinary folks.

Ordinary folks = what's a "mod"
Oridnary folks = WOT??

The point is many products that come out of Taiwan are of a lower quality. If you want to make this into a racial thing then go ahead, but that wasn't his point.

ither they fixed it or they are playing the part number game again..

i went to the dealership to get brake shim's for my friend.. and the 95's and 97's had two different part numbers.. the guy swore to me they were different.. i told him they were the same.. he kept arguing.. we ended up going to Gary's Auto Parts and they had the same part number for 95 - 99.. go figure..

yea you know how nissan is... when they replace your MAF on the 2k2, the ending is 201 instead of 200 on the part number... im thinking they just changed the # to keep track of it was replaced or not

actully some member compared the original and the replaced MAF and they do look different. I believe 201 is abit bigger than 200.

when i was reading that thread one of the guys said the 201 went wrong also, so i dont know how good the new part is. i guess we'll have to wait and see how many people blow their MAF that was already replaced
