Mine is gone...Tomorrow I was planning on buying a new one but someone I talked to suggested having it rebuilt for under $100 canadian. Can they be rebuilt?

Thanks

Sure they can.
But you can also buy a rebuilt starter, so why wait?
When I had to repair mine, I learned:

a. Shop a lot! Prices varied fairly widely (i'm in So. California btw). There are many different competitors out there for starters. After calling 5 places, I said what the heck and called two more places. Saved $20.

b. Look for guarantees and weigh that with the price.
