How do you know when the IACV has gone bad ?? I know there really not too expensive from Nissan ($140 or so) but what truly happens if one goes bad ?? My idle does drop below idle sometimes as Im stopping for a ligth but not all the time...I really dont know if its bad or not ? with 100K miles on it, I may just replace it when I do my VI

Matt, if it's gone bad you'll get a CEL light. It could be sticky and not functioning correctly too. You can take it apart and clean it with TB cleaner.

Ive cleaned it

Tom,

Ive taken it apart 2 times and cleaned and the throttle body cleaner is coming out of the valve really clean...It still dipping below idle when I come to a light but only sometimes...I think something else is f'ed up

Im going to try to change the IACV gasket becuase I think it got messed up the first time I cleaned it

P.S. I went back to the macanic that did my A/C and I had him look at why my car is idleing High (900-100)...He said there is too much air getting into the IACV from somewhere ?? maybe the gasket isnt seated right ?? I dont know but Im gonna try a new gasket...cause he try stalling it with that black screw turned all the way down and it didnt...Idle stayed right up there...TOM, what do you think bro ?
