Will making Hybrid into a CAI quiet it down at all?

Will making Hybrid into a CAI quiet it down at all?
My wife says it is too loud as a hybrid, and I am somewhat inclined to agree. I have posted the CAI up for sale, but have had no bites on it. If I cannot sell it, I would rather USE it than have it wastign space in my apartment, so I may reinstall it all of the way. If I do so, will adding the lower CAI pipe quiet it down at all? Is there anything that I can do (header wrap, heat insulation, etc.) that might muffle the sound at all?
According to mzmtg in this thread, there will not be a real difference. Jamsan noted that the in-car sound was somewhat quieter. Does anyone else have any experience, having gone from CAI to hybrid, or vice-versa? I have nit cut the hole for the CAI, and if it is going to be droning and obnoxious, I am just going to have to take a loss and sell it.
My biggest problem is that I drive in stop-and-go traffic both to and from work, and it gets old when I have to gun the engine to merge, accellerate at a light, change lanes, ect.
If interested in buying my CAI, look HERE please.

if you put the CAI on it will be much quieter, again, because the filter is all the way down in the fender wall, so oyu have droning it out, and its farther away....outside, the cai is louder i believe, but inside the car, the cai is definately much quieter.
I had a Stillen pop charger before and it was loud, (both inside and outside)!!! And I switched to Injen CAI and it was a lot more quiet(again, both inside and outside). My theory goes with what Jamsan said. It's lower and in the Injen case, further away from the cabin. But if you say CAI is louder than pop charger/hybrid then I disagree.
Tifosi
p.s. If you wife says your's loud, then have her ride in my car.... all Stillen Y, B, muffler.....that's LOUD!!! I better do something about it before my ears start to bleed

I had both and to me the hybrid is only louder from the inside of the car only at WOT. The cai makes more noise overall because it has more if a hissing noise all the time especially when the ac is on.

In a side not, one of the couplers kept slipping on the hybrid (not designed for the weight of the MAF and filter, I suppose), so it was rattling. I opened the hood last night, and the crankcase hose and the small tube (where does THAT one go?) were BOTH disconnected. I was more than a little bit ****ed.
Another thing: It has been dewy in the morning, and my whole car was covered with dew...except for RIGHT over the valve cover and right over the CONE filter. I get home @ 6:00 PM and do not move the car until morning, and even @ 8:00 AM there was STILL enough heat in those two components to evaporate the dew before it settled. That is 14 hours later! Is this normal?
U R CORRECT
perfect example. Me and skeelo have different intakes. I have CAI, he has a home made hybrid intake type deal.
Outside, if you pop open our hoods and rev up from the throttle cable, mine sounds a lot louder and deeper.
But from inside, his sounds way louder.

my car is extremely hot as well, but i never noticed the dew on the hood, ill take a look tomorrow morning...
the small hose that goes to the mid-pipe is the Idle....if its disconnected your car will more than likely stall when you come to a stop (happened to me)....
so, it looks like you should install the CAI....im more than positive itll be fine for you and your wife
