Doors lock when I turn on lights
Doors lock when I turn on lights
Ok, so I changed the bulbs in my windows control units to blue, and they look great. However, whenever I turn on my lights, the doors lock. Sometimes it happens right when the lights licks on, other times, it happens like 5 seconds later. It NEVER did this before...I've already locked my keys in my car like 4 times. What would happen, is I would unlock the door, get out....the second the door closed, it would lock again (this happened once with the car running....that F*****g sucked). What could be the problem?

hehe, I think you've discovered a new mod my friend, that's a really cool feature, what did you do?
on a serious note, you probably screwed up when you sottered it back together, take it apart and make sure that you didn't make any extra contacts, it can't be anything else

I got into a "fight" with my locks a couple days ago! Turned on the lights, car locked...I unlocked it, the car locked...did it again...then again!! Well, the car won. I does seem like a cool mod...now, I have to figure out how to control it.

On my Mazda 626, when I turn the ignition key to "Acc", all the doors lock after about 5 seconds. I like this feature. Can I do something similar on my Max?

Wow, that's so funny! No offense, it's just amusing.
Definitely a bridge that shouldn't be there, abut these guys already called it. I just had to post because omg...too funny.
Oh and I doubt there's a way to wire the max to wait a certain time period and then lock, like a VW or a newer Intrepid, because there are no other similarly timed things that you can tap into that I can think of.

I want that, I'd put it in w/ a switch, so I can control it. I need a switch board, there are many things that I want to wire to a switch, where should I put it

Oh, I will figure this one out...I have nothing else to do at work except figure out little crap like this. As far as putting a switchboard somewhere, I have mine mounted to the right of the stearing column...running 4 switches through it. Took about a day of design and about $20 for all the material.
With my Viper 550, the doors lock automatically. All the doors must be closed for it to work, but about 5 seconds after you start the car, the doors lock. When you turn the car off, the doors unlock. This didn't happen when I had the stock alarm on. It was one of the features I got with the Viper alarm. I kind of like this feature.
I like the way my friends car is better. Whenever you take the car out of "P" or Park, the doors lock. Once put back in "P", then the doors unlock. I would like my Maxima to work like this because it gets annoying always having to unlock the doors to let friends in the car, or waiting the extra few seconds after your turn your car off to get out.

I feel your pain!! I had a similar problem about a year ago. My doors would just lock at will, at anytime. Incredibly frustruating. I had not tinkered with anything, or done anything else that I thought would cause this. My "solution" was to live with it!!
As a result, the demon possesing my car decided to move on to bigger and better things. For some reason the auto-locking feature
just went away!
I know it's not the most helpful post, but good luck!
