Matching the bulbs!! 95 Maxima SE

Hey fellas

I got a 95 Maxima SE, gold color, and I've been through bulbs like crazy (not bought, but been looking at).

I currently have the Xtreme white PIAA crap bulbs and PIAA all over the front (1156's 1157's etc. etc.)

The foglights are Xtreme white too. Now the fogs are whiteish blue, the heads are yellowish white, the sides are whiter, the turns are blueish white and the sides on the bumper are blueish white. I want to match them all up!!! Its like I have a crayola box on the front of my car with a blue tint to it!!

What kind of setup do you guys have that match up all the bulbs? Does the POLARG set for the front match everything up nice and pretty?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks

even the polarg set up wont match perfectly, but it is a fairly close match.

do people look at color temp before buying? I'm trying to stay near 4000k...Pretty good so far: doors and map lights are 3750k and dome is 4100k. They match pretty well.

I just bought a set of 80/100w H4 bulbs on ebay that are 4300k and am looking for the corner bulbs now. I still need a bulb for the trunk and backup lights. I was gonna do the glove box, but I can't seem to pull the bulb out and I need to take the dash apart to change the ashtray light.

Remember, do your research before buying. Most bulbs will state the color temp on the packaging. If it doesn't, maybe it's a knockoff bulb that will burn out or discolor.

hey

do all bulbs have the temp rating? like the 1156's and 1157's i ordered from piaa don't have any temp rating on em. the 9004s are 4000k, and i believe those are the only lights piaa put a temp rating on.

well anyway i'm done with piaa. i'm looking into alternatives. besides being way too pricey, the headlights are this whiteish yellow... just looks... bad.

thats my 5 cents worth, at least.

yeah i heard the piaa headlights dont match the piaa corner lights and other lights. try getting some whiter/bluer headlights, such as Naxos or Nokya (I think Nokya are kinda blue, while Naxos are just really bright white with a tint of blue). You should be able to get them for like $25 from ebay. Try them out, take some pics, and let us know how u like them.

also, I know for a fact my Polarg 27 watt corner lights did not match the Naxos headlights though, the Polarg's were too yellow, so hopefully the PIAA are whiter than them

also, do the foglights, corner lights, and blinkers match up at all? you said they're all PIAA, and all kinda blueish, and I'm interested in getting a similar set up. Thanks for the info.

yeah my whole setup is piaa.

xtreme white plus headlights and foglights. the fogs are nice, they look real nice and white with a hint of blue. the headlights are no good, too yellowish (for my taste at least). if i can't find any good bulbs, i'm gonna get the hanabi HIDs (ill look into those bulbs you mentioned though, thanks).

the bumper side lights are those little wedge bulbs, they look nice and blue with the diamond cut bumper lights i have on. the front bumper lights are like white with no blue (good thing they only turn on with the turn signals)

the corner for the headlight is whiteish with barely visible touch of blue... kind of like a room light (something like that). i have a prizm of light on the front of my car... everything is different! <sigh>

in other words, don't order the whole front of the car PIAA, unless you like all these different white/blue combinations. i'm gonna look into nokya, polarg, and these naxos... somebody also told me about sylvanias... know anything bout those?

haha prizm of light. i know how u feel.. i used to run APC blue corner lights with Philips bluevisions.. the color was way off.

as for the sylvanias, I hear theyre similar to philips blue visions, which means theyre just whiter than stock, but might still be kinda yellowish compared to the PIAA corners. so i wouldn't get those in your case.

so would you say that your corner lights, and the front blinker lights are about the same color, since they are both PIAA 1157 or 1156 or whatever? thanks again for the info.

a little update...

i ordered these lights from a company called FX for the headlights. they claim to be 5000k, i just got em and installed em today, they look way better than the piaa xtreme whites. and the price tag was about 27 bucks. they now match the bumper side lights.

the headlight corners match the front bumper lights. the headlights match the bumper side lights. and the fog lights are in a class of their own. hey at least im getting there.

yeah the corners match the front bumper lights (the blinkers). but i noticed they're more yellowish than i thought. sigh, i notice something wrong every day

im gonna try and take a picture so ya can see em. if i could just find that damn camera....

yeah
it's a bit tricky to match everything up..

Anyone know what matches the Polarg corner/parking lights best???

I had some APC bulbs with upgraded harness but the harness stopped working.. they were white with a hint of blue..

I am looking for a nice bulb that is just pure white.

I don't want any blue at all, or as little of it as possible and absolutely no yellow...

so far, i have not seen what i want..
any suggestions/ideas?

spiff66747,
are you sure the Naxos bulbs are the very white ones and the Nokya ones are the blue ones?

I had Naxos in my car. The first thing you notice about them is how bright they are. Like brilliant white, but theres' definetely a hint of blue in them.

The Nokya ones I saw in my friends Accord. They are similar to Naxos, but I never compared them side by side, and I've heard Naxos are good for brightness, while Nokya are good for color.

Just to reiterate, the Naxos are still slightly blue, but they are mostly just brilliant white (very HID like)

Heres a pic of the Naxos, and the corners are Polarg, but they didnt really match in real life, they might look like it on the pic

thanks,
pics definately can't tell much when it comes to pics of determining the true color of the light.. HIDs always come out green in pics..

I have the Polargs in the parking lights.. I want white headlights.
Those look pretty good, if it's as close as I can get to having no blue, but pure white.. I'll go with them

Just curious,
what bubls are you running now?
