Run in w/97 Mustang Cobra at lunch time his engine was bored out

1130AM rolled around and as I am rolling out the gate I see two nice mustangs. A 302 Badged/97 body type Cobra, and they have some loud engines. So they punch it no biggie. So I am at the first light and there it became a revving contest. Went down a couple of lights I line up w/the Cobra. He revs, I knew it was on. Light turns green we both are neck and neck and soon as I shifted to 2nd I pulled away from him. It was a one block race over pass of the highway and no intersections. The guy tells me to pullover at BP and he says hes engine is bored out too much so thats why he bogged. He was pretty cool, but the only problem is that I had my little boos baby seat in the back seat. Facial expression on their faces priceless . Nicely dropped vehicles but those really wide huge heavy 18s really slow you down.

I have not seen a race thread in a while since they were banned in Sept. I respect that!

Umm you got a SC or Nos?

No way you stayed with a Cobra without those 2 mods.

The Mustang driver was an idiot. You can't "bore over" a 4.6 Cobra. And if it was bored over, there would be more lowend power and it wouldn't be "boggy". Along with the fact that he's full of a BS, he's obviously a ****-poor driver and deserved to get beat. Good job.

Russ I thought you knew I was supercharged. If you dont know now you do, just clik on the homepage. No biggie your not the first not to believe me. A while back someone posted I call BS on this one, when I posted that I raced same body GT on the freeway and beat it. Cumalot set that race on our way to the track. I also raced the new body GT as well on the freeway on our way to this big Atl meet at stone mountain. Look at the below video and enjoy thats my car.

First time I saw that video Jaime. You sure it was a Mustang GT? 15.4 seem pretty slow for a Mustang GT. Kind of look like an older fox body style Mustang.

It was a mustang GT with a roll cage inside the car and a giant tach. Most of those Mustang guys were running 13s and below. I dont know what happened to this dude but this was my 2nd run at commerce.

Those are the LX Fox bodys, should be the quickest cause they are lighter than the GT. 15.4 but trapped at 65? something not right. Good run btw

To be honest I didnt expect to pull on that dude seriously. Bulldawg told me I could pull on those cobras a long time ago and other .org members. I guess they were right. The guy said his engine was bored out for boost. I dont know much about their engines so I am clueless.

What a relief! I'm sure Jaime is smart enough to know not to race when his kid is in the car. I know if I have my nephew and/or niece in my car, I drive like a grandma, if I speed, my little nephew would yell at me!
