more problems with my reverse indiglos....
more problems with my reverse indiglos....
ok, i fixed my speedo and tach from sticking, so those work great now. however i have issues with the gas gauge. its reading lower than the amount of gas in the tank, and its not going down. i've driven 50 miles and that damn thing hasnt budged at all, so its stuck. how can i fix the indiglos to see if the fuel gauge is working, w/o having to take the whole dash apart everyfew days to adjust it?? This is getting annoying after onely 2 days, so any help would be appreciated!

I know i need to fix 2 of the gauges. the fuel works when i filled it up, but it wont go down at all, thats my worry- when will i be out of gas?? and i will have to reset it, cause i filled up the tank and it read less than full.
Disassemble the guage cluster. Leave the clear plastic off and put the cluster back in temporarily. Go fill the tank up and manually move the fuel guage needle to the full posistion. Drive home, remove the cluster, ensure that none of the needles will touch the guage overlays and reinstall the clear plastic piece. Now put it back in your car and you should be good. If you're uncertain, you could drive around a few days w/ the plastic piece removed and make sure the needles all sweep w/o sticking. Then reinstall it correctly. Hope this helps, good luck.
thanks everyone, I decided to bust out the double sided tape and fix everything, now all the gauges work again. not to mention that screwing the gauges back on helps too...didnt dawn on me until 3 days after..oh well
