Im planning on shaving the lettering off the cover and also filling in the "v6 3000 24v etc.." with body filler. Im wondering if anyone here has already done this? any pics? Im also deciding if I should repaint it red or paint it silver to match my future VI cover. im going to be using the same paint thats used to paint cars so do you think it will hold up to the heat? any input?

id like to change my cover... I was looking for a cover that has Nissan, and V6 in Jappen letters.... but i wasent able to find one, that would be cool if they made one...then i could tell people i have a jap spec motor

 

Ill be interested in a CF one. If it were possible to get red CF or other colors it would be nice keep up the good work too!

 

Nismo I thought about it seriuosly but my major concern was if the bondo/body-filler can take the heat of the block. And for some reason I don't think it can.

as far as the paint, try this stuff at autozone. i think the brand is duplicolor. they just got it at my local store. i used it to paint my brake parts and a few other things, it comes out really good, and it can withstand a lot of heat (500 degress F i believe). like someone else said though, i dunno if the body filler stuff would hold up to that kind of heat

i shaved it and filled with bondo and then sanded down. it takes a long time to shave but it's fun. get a drill and get at it.
