Finally got her Dynoed except only at 5.9PSI belt was slipping

Today went over to see JaimeCBR do a Dyno run. After talking for about 3 mins he comes up to me and says go back up in there I am here to see you dyno it is about 7:45 pm and just got off work. Okay sure strapped it down and then did a first run but didnt take it all the way to 6500RPMS Dynoed at 239HP. Next thing you know I do a second pull in fourth gear and this time take it all the way to 6600RPMS. I heard a funny noise so I was somewhat scared. Then the guy hooks up some device so he diconnects my boost gauge and do another run in third gear and I take it all the way to 6600RPMS. My belt was slipping as the chart said so I dynoed 244.6 HP and 246.9Lbs of Torque at 5.9PSI. I have linked the chart I am tired.

I owe you one JaimeCBR, thanks alot I really appreciate this.

Jaime, those are pretty good numbers for just 5.9 psi! Just imagine if you were getting the full 10psi!

You need to get your SAFC and then go back to do another dyno. Test and tune dyno.

he disconnected my boost gauge and hooked it up to the dyno and it flatened out at 5.9 PSI on the dyno and didnt go up either. That was a third gear run to 6600RPMS. You can hear the belt making a squeeling noise. I am getting the SAFC Monday and he said he will help me tune it. So that will be good right there for me and hopefully wayne and Bosco can come out there.

A few things I'm seeing here:

1) Is that as far as they pulled your car onto the dyno drums? Your need to be on the very top of the drum, not on the back of the drum. When you dyno too far back or too far forward on the drums, the load in placed where it normally isn't and the results can get skewed. Another reason not to dyno far back or forward on the drum is for a safety.

2) Is your tach wildly off? The reason I say that is because it appears they let off at 5800rpms and not 6600rpms like you said. If the tach isn't off, then their ignition pickup was off which will give you skewed numbers.

3) It look to me like either you've got a fuel problem up top OR slipping belts.

Thanks for the tips appreciate that. This is the fourth gear run apparently I did not even notice that. This is my 2nd pull. The first pull was a 3rd gear pull and I didnt even take it to 6K got me 239HP forgot the torque number. The 2nd run was in 4th gear this is the Dyno chart your looking at. The last run with the vacuum line connected to the Dyno to monitor the boost closely in third that one I took it up to 66000 RPMs. He did not give me a print out of that one. How ever the guy was real nice and polite. I like his nice polite attitude and will be going back there to tune it up. Cheston scared me when he posted the too tight belt may damage the seals so I didnt tighten the belt that tight.

Guys, his belt was really slipping. At around 5k, you could hear it squealing pretty good. The guy at the dyno was doubting the numbers too, so he hooked up the vaccum monitor to check boost. He got to 5.9 and then it totally flatened out. He suspected that due to the squealing belt. He's gonna put up some sick numbers when we tune it in with the AFC and tighten up the belt a little more.

BTW, who is that muscle bound, 6pack abd, manly looking guy in the yellow shirt?????

You don't owe me bud. Nothing to it. I just wanted you to have baseline numbers before we started messing around with the tuning stuff. Let me know about the AFC (look at my post).

Tell me where to look up that german techworks to see if they have the AFC in stock. I called to order from another place where wayne referred me to and they're out of stock right now.

You know those are the competitions in 18x8.5

duh I should have known you were talking about my wheels. Right now I am still at work at the warehouse taking care of stuff. Man life was so much better in New Orleans. Yesterday got off at about 7 something today it is almost 6PM and I am still at work on my day off. Bare with me today I am stressed the hell out.

JaimeCBR thats the place right there. I dont know of any other place to get this SAFC for a cheaper price. I would try go to to the Apexi website and see who are the stores that carry Apexi and see which one of them can give you a decent deal.

this is a from Turboimports.com thats a no go
A'pexi AFC Fuel Controller
APX-401A007Regular price: $419.00Sale price: $349.99
Apex'I SAFC

Apexr1.com
Retail: $419.00
Sale price: $369.00

www.group5motorsport.com has the 2nd cheapest price.
A'PEXi Super AFC (Digital)
$335.00

but german techworks has the cheapest price $290 shipped.
