I went to the track for the first time on Oct. 19. I had my AGX's set to 8 in the rear. I varied the fronts from 4 down to 1 over different runs. As it turns out, my best #s were achieved with the fronts being set to 1.

btw, my Toyo FZ4's were horrible! Tire squeal shooting out of the hole throughout first gear & major chirp in 2nd. I need new tires! & learn how to modulate the gas pedal better.

 

hey felix...i had mine set all the way tight (4/8) on 4 consecutive 14.80 passes. i ran on the stock "sawblade" wheels, intake, and y-pipe. i had no problem with traction off the line...i do chirp 2nd though. i only launch at 1800rpms so traction is usually not an issue.

2/8 front/back agx settings

on 15 inch steelies.... i've pulled a 2.25 60' with this setup.

Man, nice time! What kind of tires do you have? I launched at 1500 & my Toyo FZ4's squealed like a pen of pigs! The tires are about 1/2 their tread depth. Maybe there's a problem there?
My front tires were around 26 psi & rears 35 psi. What did you have your pressures set to?

A buddy of mine has a nearly stock '97 (only has intake) & he got 15.08x. I have a bunch of plumbing for the exhaust & could only get a 15.018. Something doesn't seem quite right.
