Hear a fast clicking noise (like a card in bicycle spokes) when I use the A/C. Gets louder as I turn up A/C. This is a 99 Maxima SE. Could the A/C just need charging? Thanks for any help.

 

I've got a 99 i30, same noise. Apparently it's normal and is just the nature of the compressor, according to my dealership.

 

Yes I have this same noise, and its more audible from the passenger seat. My wife heard it first(cuz she sits over there), but now I always hear it...I am picky about interior noises. Anybody know a fix for this?

 

yeah, I have the same noise, it drives me off the wall, but I've been driving w/ it for two years and it's not broken, yet, so I'll just continue doing it what works, but if anybody got a fix for that, I'd gladly apreciate it

My A/C has been making that noise for almost 2 years now. When I turn on the A/C it sounds like there are marbles inside the compressor. Two years ago, the Nissan dealership told me that my compressor would go out very soon and that they could replace it and recharge it for about $1300.

So far the A/C compressor has worked fine for the past two years and it seems to work well. I drive the car in a climate where the summer temperatures rise well over 100 degrees on a daily basis and the A/C keeps the car cool.

I'm not going to worrry about it. My Maxima has so many squeaks and rattles that I don't even notice the A/C noise anymore.

 

that's the best feeling, when all the noises that the car makes don't matter anymore, you're so much more relaxed then
