How many 4th Gens here have hit 100K ??
How many 4th Gens here have hit 100K ??
Asking because my '98 SE is now at almost 102K with no major problems. Just goes to show how regular maintenance keeps these sweet engines hummin. The most expensive work done to the car other than mods has been having to replace two bad sensors. I couldn't be happier with my max and was just wondering how many others have dropped as many miles on their maximas as I have. It's obviously been my every day commuter but I used to stretch her legs and she's still kickin strong.

I've even seen 5th genners with 100K+, so it's not unusual.

change the coolant
change the manual transmission fluid
don't change the clutch unless it feels like it needs to be changed. It's an expensive repair and there is no reason to do it until it is necessary. People have gotten way over 100k miles on the stock clutch. I think mine could be stock and I have 121k, grabs well but something is making is really stiff
141k miles....
synth tranny oil swapped every 30k miles
synth oil swapped every 4k miles
all major maintenance checkpoints done at dealership (last one @ 120k)
91 Octane always
Regardless of how much money and time i've spent keeping it maintained... F-ing tranny starting to leak.. probably bad bearings because of sound it makes occasionally. Some stuff u just can't help get ****ed off about.

105K on my 95 SE. no major problems so far except a starter that recently died. more annoying problems have been all my damn sensors going bad (knock sensor, ECTS, rear O2 sensor...argh!!)
oh yeah, the dreaded Bose has gone south as well. figures.
i drove my 91 SE till it had 195K on it and it was still kicking strong.

I am sure that if you take good care of your engine it can hold up to the 200k.
My 1980 Datsun 720 was at 230K original engine and tranny. And still was running strong until I sold it.
