Polk Momo vs Alpine Type - R

I am looking to get a new sub...I had two 12's, but I want to go with only 1 12 because the bass was too much with 2...I was looking at either 1 Alpine Type R with a Alpine 300 watt amp, or 1 12 inch Momo, in the plexiglass box with a JL 500/1 ??? Any suggestions ??

If it is too much bass, why not just turn down the gain, or subwoofer control if equipped. Just curious.

So the JL 500/1 will be good for the Alpine Type - R..The amp is 500 RMS, and the sub says its only 300 RMS ???Will it still be ok ??

Well the sub is rated at up to 1000 watts peak, so 500 RMS is fine
