I added more to the weight reduction list. I hope to have pics and directions up soon. As always, if you have any additions please notify me. Thanks.

Re: Weight Reduction Updated

stage 1 is feasable; stage 2 is just plain dumb. Remove power windows? Airbags? Sideview mirrors? AC components? Come on...

Here's my list:

Remove engine
Remove transmission
Remove unibody
Remove exterior panels
Remove steering wheel
Remove tires and rims
Remove multi-link beam
Remove doors

that should save about 2700 pounds

How do you get to the support bar behind glove box to remove it?

Removing weight is a great performance mod but removing weight up front will hurt traction. We don't have much of that already. Try to concentrate on the weight in the rear. Removing weight past the rear axle might even help traction.

just remember one constant

the driver. I'm sure some of the 16-year olds that just reach 145lbs will have a better advantage than someone like me. 6'2" @ 210lbs.

Maybe not! You might get a better 60' due to better traction with your extra weight.

Thats a nice list you have made up there. You forgot one really important thing though. It's that plexiglass window replacement stuff. I forgot the name of it but it drops something like 150 lb's on a car. Also when headers become available(not including POS NZ ones) that will reduce another good 15 lb's. Our oem iron one's are pretty darn heavy.
