Tire Stud Replacement (the thread the lug nut goes on)

Has anyone ever done this? How difficult is it?

I was trying to change a tire and 3 of the bolts were rusted on I guess and I torqued the bolt off by ripping the stud off. I can't even drive my baby

Thanks!

Its not too hard. I'm not sure if haynes manual has instructions or not. What I had to do on my old cavalier z24 was to pop the studs out and bang in new ones from behind with a hammer. They cost about 2 bucks each at autozone. Its not too difficult of a job as long as you have tools and are a little handy with cars. I'm pretty sure a maxima will be the same. You'll have to take off rotors, and some other stuff to ge to them. I can look up the service manual if it says anythign tomorrow for you.

Thanks skeelo, not necessary to look up.

My cousin told me the same thing but he had never done a Maxima. He said BMW's had it setup this way, but there was a chance Maxima's might be different. I already picked up the parts from a dealership next to my house (same price $2 each).

I should be good to go.

Thanks again!

Dino
