Perhaps you should look at 4WD or AWD cars like your jeep. Subarau WRX, Audi A4 Quattro, VW Passat 4Motion, etc. Maximas are FWD. They're pretty good, but AWD is a different level altogether.

A Maxima equipped with a good all season or wet weather tire has excellent traction. I run Dunlop Sport A2's and they grip even on very nicely on wet surfaces. The Bridgestone Potenza RE950 I think?? Gets excellent marks as an all season high performance tire as well.

Any FWD vehicle is excellent in bad weather provided it's equipped with the correct tires.
