Rear window noise...........do it yourself????

hey,

has anyone of you guys repaired that rear window noise problem on your 5th gen MAX yourselves??? I know there was a TSB but i dont think its covered by the warranty anymore b/c i am over on my miles(40K).

i printed the tsb off of the forum and it looks pretty easy to do my self.

just curious if anyone had done it and if they encoutered any problems.

thanks for your advice

I did it myself about a month ago. No problems. Just have to make sure the foam strip you use to fill the gap is thin/compressible enough to not push the rubber window gasket out too far, but still thick enough to do the job. I just used weather strip from home depot, cost all of $3 and about 15 minutes of time. Didn't cure the problem but the wind noise was reduced.

I also did it myself, about a year ago. I agree that it reduced the noise but didn't solve the problem.
