well, lets just see in the morning
it's been a basic tie between these two. i know they practically look the same, but i just need to be sure abotu which ones i buy. can someone give me a good reason to get one over the other? i was kinda thinking that the sferas (the first one)'s design is really deep inside the rim, while the spider's spokes are kinda stickin outside the rim. help?

I think the spider might work out a little better. My reasoning is that the sfera is recessed like you say, which I usually associate with rear drive cars. Although it may work on the maxima. I also agree that the spokes on the spider may stick out a little much.
I would go back to tirerack.com and look at some of the others to see if there are any that you could throw into the equation. what color car do you have? what springs are you going to use? What size rim are you going to get? These are all questions to be pondered for this type of a purchase.
The answers to these questions may help you get a larger response from the forum. Respond with them and I'll give you an updated response.

well...
haha well i have a base model goldish maxima, umm, basically all stock right now. in the process of getting a strut brace, and a JWT intake. i'm planning to get 16x7.5 rims, good width, good diameter (since i don't want to lose too much speed compared to stock 15'' wheels).

I'd have to say that if performance is really important to you(as far as the weight of the wheel) then go with a smaller spoke wheel(check the weight difference with each tire). also the smaller the spoke and the more the spoke extends out to the very edge of the tire, the larger the rim will appear. In the same size tire, I think the spider looks larger.
You could go with a smaller spoked wheel that weighs less, and then go with a larger size wheel. This way you win both ways:
1. you attain the appearance you may be interested in,
2. You keep your rims as light as possible for acceleration and speed purposes.
What about the evo's, do you like the way they look?
Are you going to go with silver or chrome on the rim's?
My personal opinion is to not go with chrome...clashes alot with the gold of the car.
Whatever decision you make, I'm sure they will look awesome.
Go with the Spider,I'm in wheel dilema myself.
Look at what I'm checking on...

Hey mettalic97gxe,
I would probably go with the GTB, mainly because I like the thinner spokes. But in your situation, those two rims are a bit different. They are quite a bit deffernet in price as well. That's almost 200 bucks man. dunno...it's hard to say....tire choice is so much of a personal taste issue...tough decision huh. I went with an 18, because I found it to be about the same price as the 17's I was looking at, and I wanted as big as a tire as I could go with for the look I wanted. Personal Taste....
looking at them on the car...
