I know the legality issue of doing a conversion im goin to mention but is it possible.
(hypothetically )
Im wondering how hard it would be to do a OBD1 conversion to a 99maxima. i know on BMW's more specifically to the 97m3 you can do an OBD1 conversion.
The result is a very noticeable one. I was wondering how hard it would be to do this on a Max.

Welll you would need to do alot of rewiring. JWT

did this on a 2K Maxima ans switched its ECU with a 95-96 ECU, so you should be able to as long as you have the $$$ or knowledge to rewire it all.

The conversion is completely impossible. Why? Because the 95 Maxima is OBD II compliant. If you don't believe me, check out http://www.obdii.com and you'll see that the California Air Resource Board lists the 95+ Nissan VQ30DE was OBDII compliant. It is a complete myth that the 95 was ever OBDI.
Nissan designed the USA version Maxima with the intention of making it OBDII compliant when it entered the market.

The 95 max is both OBD1 and OBD2 depending on when it was made. If before feb/mar 95 its is OBD1.

All cars and light trucks built and sold in the United States after January 1, 1996 were required to be OBD II equipped. In general, this means all 1996 model year cars and light trucks are compliant, even if built in late 1995.

so 95 maxima can be obd1 or 2. i have a 95 siting in the back yard with obd1.

Listen here buddy, the (% you have is OBD-II compliant. Nissan was ahead of the curve in making it standard when they produced the 4th gen Maximas. Your is located on the passenger side floor near center console. So Stop saying its OBD-I because it is not!!!!!
