Bridgeing Aftermarket Receiver Amp output
Bridgeing Aftermarket Receiver Amp output
I have a new receiver that puts out 50W to all four speakers (50Wx4). What I want to know is if there is a way to bridge this output so I can get 100Wx2 to the two front speakers? Has anyone ever attempted this? Please help. I would like to buy and amp to power the rear speakers. Let me know what you guys think.

Bad idea for two reasons. 1) as mentioned before you can not bridge your HU. It is very bad. 2) you should use the amp that you purchase for the front speakers not the rear.
Your HU puts out 50X4. This value is really closer to probably 22-25X4. Put the rear channel of your HU to your rear speakers (for rear fill) and then get an amp that will give you 50-75 X 2 watts RMS for your front speakers (depending on speakers). Or get a 4 channel and put 2 channels to your front speakers and bridge the other two for a sub. There are many options, just don't bridge your HU.
