Maaco and Earl Scheib question not about paint though.

I know what everyone thinks of Maaco and Earl Scheib paint jobs, but does anyone know how their body work is. Im not looking to get dents pulled or anything just a little underbody welding. I have a couple holes from the rust caused by the fuel filler recall that Nissan still hasnt responded to the dealer for but thats another story. I just want to know if anyone has had any body work done by them. I only have a small bit of welding to get done and I cant afford to pay a high quality body shop 600.00 to do it and I know they will be cheaper.

They replaced a fender, replaced the passenger door, pulled 2 dents, and painted my entire car for $600 dollars. I couldn't be happier with the work they did, especially for the price.

Then again, the Maaco in my area is one of the top-rated ones in the nation...

If you complained enough you could probably get nissan to pay for the repairs then you could go to a private shop and not have to worry about going cheap to save a little bit of money

I think maaco and earl schieb pull dents and replace bolted on body parts, but i don't think they do welding and stuff like that. If they do, I doubt it'll be quality work.
If you have a rust hole that you want patched up, you have to cut off the area around the hole and weld in a new piece of metal in it's place to prevent the rust from spreading. It's not hard at all, you don't really need a body shop to do that kind of stuff for you.
If you have any contacts at a muffler shop or even any iron work shop can do it for you. You should check around a good amount of shops first to get a price range.
